Are you healthy or do you have Asthma?
You could help the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) with two trials they are undertaking relating to pneumonia. One of the trials (click here) is looking for aged 18-50 non-smoking volunteers with asthma to take part in a study which will look at responses to bacteria in the nose. The other trial (click here) is looking for healthy non-smokers aged 50-84 to help test nasal vaccines against a bacteria. For both trials you will be paid for your time for taking part. You can find out more about both of these studies here
Contribute to the FUTURE of research
The FUTURE Initiative is a study that plans to develop a panel of healthy volunteers who will be asked to donate a small amount of blood that will then be genotyped. Volunteers will be asked to donate 18mls of blood for which will be used for analysis of DNA and plasma. This will be used to establish a database to help identify healthy individuals who may be suitable to take part in phase I clinical trials. You will be paid £10 for your travel expenses and your time. If you are 18 or over and you are fit and healthy, please contact a FUTURE Initiative team representative on 0151 795 5388 or by email at future.initiative@rlbuht.nhs.
